Erma L. Buck

Erma L. Buck, 84, of 42 Kinsey St., Montgomery, died Wednesday, Feb. 29, 2012 at the Williamsport Dialysis Center in Montoursville.

Born Dec. 14, 1927 in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Luther and Delsine (Breidinger) Winder. She and her first husband, George V. Hampe, Sr., shared 35 years of marriage until his death in 1981. In Oct. 1987 she married Carl A. “Bucky” Buck, Sr., who survives.

Erma previously worked for the former Weldon’s Manufacturing in Williamsport and was also employed by the former Montgomery Mills for many years. In 1982 she retired from her position as supervisor at the former Montgomery Manufacturing.

She was a member of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Delaware Run. For many years she enjoyed gardening and canning, as well as playing cards and camping. She was a member of the Bower-Decker Post #251 American Legion, Montgomery.

Surviving in addition to her husband are three sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth and Gail Hampe and Carl and Joyce Hampe, all of Muncy; and George Jr. and Nancy Hampe of Melbourne, Fla.; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandy and Rich Mincemoyer and Jeanne and Donald Hollenbach of Watsontown, and Marti and Jeff Moorhead of Montgomery; one stepson and stepdaughter-in-law, Carl Jr. and Mary Buck of Montgomery; two stepdaughters, Linda Huffman of Montgomery and Debra Mills of Watsontown; 16 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her first husband and her parents she was predeceased by an infant daughter, Carol Ann; six brothers and five sisters.

In keeping with her wishes, services will be held at the convenience of the family. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, 6590 Musser Lane, Watsontown, PA 17777.
