Ronald A. Barto

Ronald A. Barto, 73, of Muncy, died Friday, March 2, 2012, from injuries he sustained from a motor vehicle accident.

Born April 17, 1938, in New York, he was a son of the late P. Grant and Reba Ellis Barto. He and his wife, the former Donna J. Loudenslager, would have celebrated 26 years of marriage on July 24, 2012.

Ron served his country honorably in the U.S. Army Reserves for 26 years. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, the Brady Lodge, Independent Order of Odd Fellows and was a past member of the Picture Rocks Lions Club.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Randall E. (Donna) Barto of Pennsdale; a daughter, Barbara M. (Perry) Haldeman of Hughesville; a step-son, Dane A. (Audra) Coulston of Hughesville; a step-daughter, Sheryl L. (Jayme) Johnson of Muncy; a sister, Sandra Wommer of Turbotville; 11 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Ron was preceded in death by a brother, Frank Bower.

A memorial service was held 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Burial was held at the convenience of the family. Friends called from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
