Harland E. Harman
Harland E. “Hum” Harman, 79, of Hughesville, died Saturday, March 31, 2012, at his home.
Born Sept. 1, 1932, in Hughesville, he was a son of the late LaRue and Jessie Reese Harman. He and his wife, the former Sarah E. Shaner, would have celebrated 51 years of marriage on Sept. 9, 2012.
Hum served his country honorably in the U.S. Army from 1956 to 1959. He retired from Avco in 1994 after having worked there for over 29 years. He attended Friends Church, Hughesville, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Aaron E. (Michelle) Harman of Muncy; a daughter, Andralee E. (Don) Sinsabaugh of Picture Rocks; a brother, Lewis N. (Marian) Harman of Hughesville; and four grandchildren, Alex and Cody Harman and Kile and Brad Sinsabaugh.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, at Friends Church, 137 S. Third St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Dan Cale and Pastor Paul Shaner officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends called from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Hum was a simple person and the family asks that you come celebrate his life dressed as he would.
