Beverly D. Karschner
Beverly D. Karschner, 86, of 2430 E. Hills Drive, Williamsport, died Monday, April 16, 2012, at the Gatehouse Hospice Center in Williamsport.
Born April 14, 1926 in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Frank Nicholas and Dorothy Mae (Edwards) Hofer. Her husband of 29 years, LeRoy Franklin Karschner, preceded her in death on March 12, 2009.
A graduate of Williamsport High School, Beverly was employed for 37 years in the telephone industry, retiring from Verizon. She was a member of United Commercial Travelers and a former member of A.B.W.A, the Bell Pioneers and Bell Telephone Retirees. In her spare time she enjoyed round and western square dancing and working on crafts.
Surviving are two brothers and sisters-in-law, Burton and Peggy Hofer of Mechanicsburg and Frank and Dorothy Hofer of Odessa, Florida; one sister-in-law, Edith Sampsell of Williamsport; nieces and nephews; and her dearly loved toy poodle, Tippy.
The funeral was held at noon on Monday, April 23, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery.
Friends were received from 11 am to noon on Monday at the funeral home.
