Robert P. Eoute

Robert P. Eoute, 84, of Muncy, passed away Wednesday, May 2, 2012, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.

He was born Nov. 29, 1927, in Williamsport, a son of the late Robert G. and Edna (Shatto) Eoute.

Robert was a World War II U.S. Navy veteran.

He was the former owner and proprietor of the Nippenose Tavern in Bastress from 1985 until 2008.

Robert was a life member of the VFW Post #844, a member of the VFW Post #7863, the American Legion Post #35 of Hughesville, the Highland Lake 40&8 of Hughesville, the Williamsport Consistory and the Zafar Grotto.

He enjoyed history, ancestry and loved socializing with friends and family.

Surviving are two daughters, Bobbie D. Eoute, of Montoursville, and Robin K. Eoute, of Alexandria, Va.; a brother, George Eoute, of Jersey Shore; and two granddaughters, Alexis Callahan and Jalynn Shelton.

He was predeceased by a sister, Delores Watts.

Robert’s Life Celebration was held 3 p.m. Sunday, May 6, 2012, at the Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, Ltd., “A Life Celebration Home,” 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore, with Chaplain Rebecca Logan officiating. Friends called at the funeral home from 1 until 3 p.m. Interment was in Montoursville Cemetery at 11 a.m. Tuesday with full military honors.
