Dorothy E. “Dottie” Green

Dorothy E. “Dottie” Green, 76, of Watsontown, died Wednesday, May 9, 2012, at Watsontown Health and Rehab Center.

Born July 15, 1935, in Muncy, she was a daughter of the late Alvin and Martha Geiger Barto. Her husband of 27 years, Dale T. Green, preceded her in death on Feb. 15, 1990.

Dottie was a member of the Hughesville Baptist Church and enjoyed crocheting, knitting and collecting antiques.

Surviving are a son, Eugene L. (Katherine Reynolds) Green of Watsontown; a stepson, Gary W. (Patty) Hendershot of Watsontown; a sister-in-law, Virginia Barto of Bloomsburg; three grandchildren, Roman Brady, Josh Hearn and Gary Reynolds and two great-grandchildren, Collin Hearn and Kaylee Brady.

In addition to her parents and husband, Dottie was preceded in death by a brother, Harold Barto and a sister, Eleanor Casselberry.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Monday, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Thomas M. Brokaw officiating. Burial followed in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends called from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home.
