Thomas J. Converse

Thomas J. Converse, 69, of 100 Nunn Road, Muncy, passed away May 27, 2012, at his residence.

Born Dec. 28, 1942, in Wilkes-Barre, a son of Dorothy Baier and Dr. James M. Converse of Montoursville.

Thomas was a self-employed mechanic and retired from Fairfield Ford after 25 years; a Vietnam War veteran having served in the U.S. Marines for 10 years; a member of Muncy VFW Post No. 3428; a member of Lycoming Valley Baptist Church; and he enjoyed working on his farm.

He was preceded in death by three brothers, James L., John and George Robert Converse.

Surviving is his wife of 48 years of marriage, the former Carol A. Ulmer; one son, Luke T. (Colleen) Converse of Huntersville; two daughters, Lisa A. Poust of Picture Rocks and Stacey L. (Eddie) Holland of Jacksonville, N.C.; three brothers, Rick of Cogan Station, Pastor Paul (Camey) of Millville, Pastor Steve (Ambica) of Redwood City, Calif.; two sisters, Suellen (Dr. David) Clouser of Montoursville, Mary ( Don) Fenderson of New Port Richey, Fla.; eight grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

The funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, June 1, 2012, at Lycoming Valley Baptist Church, 4980 Lycoming Mall Drive, Montoursville, with Rev. Jack J. Delaney, brothers, Pastor Steve Converse and Pastor Paul Converse officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends will be received at the Lycoming Valley Baptist Church Thursday, May 31, from 6 to 8 p.m.
