Lucille Marie Jarrett
Lucille Marie Jarrett, 87, of 270 RidgeCrest Circle, Lewisburg and formerly of Montgomery, died Saturday, July 21, 2012, at her home.
Born Oct. 7, 1924, in Mt. Vernon, S.D., she was a daughter of the late Michael Charles and Caroline Etha (Determan) Birgen. On Aug. 27, 1945, she married Carl E. Jarrett, who survives. Together they celebrated 66 years of marriage.
Lucille was a graduate of Worthing High School, Worthing, S.D. and attended Sioux Falls College, Sioux Falls, S.D.

She was a member of St. John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church, Montgomery, the Monsey Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star 481, the Spring Garden Grange and the Valley Hatters.
Lucille loved stained glass art, sewing and gardening. She was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling and spending winters in Arizona.
Surviving in addition to her husband are three children and their spouses, Michael C. and Nancy Jarrett of Montgomery, Joan E. Jarrett and Tony Mastriania of Hummelstown and Roger D. and Denise Jarrett of Muncy; one brother and sister-in-law, Virgil and Donna Birgen of Las Vegas, Nev.; one sister, Agnes Brooker of Jupiter, Fla.; six grandchildren, Kate, Melanie, Nathan, Jocelyn, Monica and Ross; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by one sister, Ella Richmond and three brothers, Clair, Joseph and Dominic Birgen.
Friends will be received today, from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2012, at St. John’s Lutheran “Brick” Church, 196 Brick Church Road, Montgomery, where the funeral will be held at 11 a.m. Officiating is her pastor, Rev. Viking Dietrich. Burial will follow in St. John’s Lutheran Church Cemetery.
