Doris M. Sheets

Doris M. Sheets, 70, of Hughesville, died Friday, July 27, 2012, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unity.

Born Dec. 8, 1941, in Webster, S.D., she was a daughter of the late Olger J. and Sena Monshaugen Loseth. Her husband of 47 years, Collins L. “Landy” Sheets, preceded her in death on Sept. 10, 2006.

Doris was a graduate of Vallejo High School, Class of 1960 and retired in 1992 from Liberty Mutual, Williamsport, after having worked there for 13 years. She enjoyed music, watching TV, karaoke, cooking for family and playing cards.

Surviving are three sons, Jeffrey W. (Annette) Sheets of Muncy, Gary A. (Stacy) Sheets of Zelienople and Corey L. Sheets of Hughesville; two daughters, Debbie L. (Jeffrey) Brown of Hughesville and Shelly L. (Pamela Chilson) Sheets of Hughesville; three brothers, Laverne C. (Barbara) Loseth of Napa, Calif., Johnnie E. Loseth of Green River, Wyo. and Robert P. (Marlene) Loseth of Lockeford, Calif.; seven grandchildren, Rebecca (Josh) Guinter, Travis (Amanda) Sheets, Lissa Sheets, Christen (Dan) DiRocco, Amy (Donald) Burgett, Samantha (Shane) Strayer and Tessa Chilson-Sheets; two great-grandchildren, Lacey Strayer and Aidan Guinter; and special family, Dan (Diana) Thomas and family.

In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold, Orville and Winton Loseth.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4, 2012, at the Moreland Baptist Church, 118 Moreland Baptist Road, Muncy, with the Rev. Robert Ingraham officiating. Burial will be held privately in Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the church.
