William A. McQuay
William A. (Bill) McQuay, 58, of Watsontown, formerly of Montgomery, died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born in Muncy Valley on Oct. 6, 1953, the son of James and Dora Brouse McQuay.
Bill was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church. He was employed by the Kellogg’s Co. in Muncy. He was a member of the Pioneer Riding Club, Montgomery Pop Warner, the 4-H Club and the Montgomery Boosters. He enjoyed farming, hunting and spending time with his family. He is a U.S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his wife, the former Theresa L. Alexander McQuay. Bill and Theresa celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary in Feb. 2012.
Also surviving are his children, Jason (Jessica) McQuay of South Williamsport, Nicole (Mark) Seneca of Pittsburgh and Seth McQuay of Atlantic City, N.J., and one grandchild, Jaden Bressler of Muncy. Bill is also survived by a brother, Gary, of Watsontown; and sisters, Eleanor Kilcoyne of Picture Rocks and Trudy Freezer of Montgomery.
Funeral services were held on Friday morning at 11 a.m. at the Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport, with the Rev. Gary Weaver officiating. Friends called on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday morning 10 to 11 a.m. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming County Unit of the American Cancer Society, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, or to the Sun-Home Hospice, 61 Duke St., Box 232, Northumberland, PA 17857.
