Eugene Albert Levan

Graveside services for Eugene Albert Levan, 86, of Whigham, Ga., will be at 3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, in Elimsport Cemetery, Elimsport, Pa. Mr. Levan passed away at his home in Whigham on Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012.

Mr. Levan was born on June 14, 1926, in Montgomery, Pa., to the late Harry Charles Levan and Lydia Marie Tupper Levan. On March 13, 1948, he married Delores Mae Fenstermacher Levan, who survives. He was a retired aircraft engine specialist for Piper Aircraft in Williamsport, Pa. He had worked with the company for 36 years. He also served as an auto mechanic in the U.S. Army and was trained in Lenggries, Germany. He served overseas in the 94th Division for 17 months, part of which was under General Patton’s Third Army. He was a member of the Whigham United Methodist Church, Whigham, Ga.

Eugene is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Delores F. Levan of Whigham, Ga.; a daughter and son-in-law, Fay and Barry Young of Whigham, Ga.; sons and daughters-in-law, David and Linda (Beth) Levan of Venice, Fla., Jerry and Bonnie Levan of Otto, N.C.; eight grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Levan of Williamsport, Pa.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Wilbur Levan.
