B. Marie Fowler

B. Marie Fowler, 85, of Lime Bluff Road, Muncy, passed away Monday, Nov. 19, 2012, at the Geisinger Medical Center.

Born Nov. 8, 1927, in Turbotville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Ethel (Milheim) Cotner. She was married to Harold L. Fowler on Nov. 23, 1984, and they would have celebrated 28 years of marriage later this month.

Marie was the eldest of four children, a waitress and a cook in her mother’s restaurant, Mom’s Lunch, Muncy, and at several other local establishments. She was a former employee at the Sylvania Plant, Muncy; she was a local in home caregiver for many years and retired as a home maker. Marie enjoyed dancing with her friends, especially polka and square dancing and enjoyed music and followed many of the local bands. She also enjoyed visiting with family and grandchildren and attending her grandson’s sporting events.

Surviving, besides her husband, are a son, Daryl “Butch” (Deb) Edwards of Lyndon, Kan.; a daughter, Charlene M. (Joseph) Zellers of Muncy; stepdaughter, Becky (David) Shoemaker of Hughesville; sisters, Dorothy (Bohdan) Chreptowskyj of Sun City Center, Fla., Helen (George) Martin of Sharpsburg, Ga.; a sister-in-law, Kay Cotner of Orlando, Fla.; grandchildren, Dana Edwards, Rochelle (Edwards) Hobbs, Zachary Zellers, Caitlyn and Alex Shoemaker; and five great-grandchildren.

Marie was preceded in death by a brother, Harry Cotner; a grandson, Rodney Edwards; and a great-grandson, Kaleb Hobbs.

Friends were invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Brooks Funeral Home, 207 Broadway St., Turbotville, where the funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Saturday with the Elder Dwight D. Shoemaker, of the Muncy Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses, officiating. Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery.
