Helen M. Michael

Helen M. Michael, 101, of 147 Clarkstown Rd., Muncy, died Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at her home.

Born July 12, 1911 in Forksville, she was a daughter of the late Herbert D. and Anna M. (Streby) Molyneux. She married Ford W. Michael who preceded her in death on September 26, 1996.

Helen graduated from high school in Sullivan County and later attended and graduated from Mansfield University. She retired from East Lycoming School District where she was a high school teacher.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Hughesville.

Helen enjoyed quilting for many years. She also loved tending to her garden, reading and traveling with Ford.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Gina Michael of Muncy; two daughters and one son-in-law, Donna and David Heiney of Hughesville, and Carol M. Zablocky of Muncy; seven grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two sisters, Alice Richey Woodhead and Grace Norton; one brother, Carl Molyneux; and one son-in-law, Irv Zablocky.

Funeral services were held privately at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating was her pastor, Rev. Cinda Brucker.

Burial was held in Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville.

The family provided the flowers and suggests memorial contributions be made to Susquehanna Home Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
