Patsy Beruck Moffitt
Patsy Beruck Moffitt, 63, of 219-B White Church Rd., Muncy, died Saturday, December 29, 2012 at her home.
Born August 9, 1949 in Pennsylvania, she was a daughter of the late Andrew Beruck, Sr. and Marjorie (Glenn) Beruck. She married Milton Moffitt, who preceded her in death.
Patsy attended Dover High School.
Because of her love of photography, she owned her own photo shop at one time and enjoyed taking photos for other people and assisted in the development of police department photos. Patsy also made “Safety” coloring books for children for the police department.
When Patsy was first diagnosed with a brain tumor, there was very little information available to offer support to people. She helped encourage Congress members at the Maryland State and Federal level to pass a bill that would require the federal cancer data collection process to include data on benign brain tumors. Patsy was constantly on the line trying to support other people that were going through the same problems.
Animals have always been Patsy’s first love, especially her Great Danes. She also enjoyed collecting Indian artifacts.
Surviving are one brother, Andrew Beruck, Jr. and his wife, D’ette of Berbesford, SD; three sisters, Mary Lee Beruck Beaumont of Texas, Jean Swaine and her companion, Bill Hilliard of Maryland, and Beth Beruck Cory of Muncy; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, January 3, 2012 at Grenoble’s , 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where a memorial service was held at 2 p.m. with Rev. Glenn McCreary, Episcopal Vicar of the Western Pastoral Region, officiating.
The family provided the flowers, and suggest memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, Lycoming Unit, 1948 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
