Jody K. Phillips

Jody K. Phillips, 59, of Hughesville, died Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013, at Manor Care.

Born Jan. 14, 1953, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Gerald E. and June M. (Stackhouse) Phillips.

Jody was a very spiritual person who was committed to reading and studying the Bible. He was a graduate of Muncy High School, Class of 1972, and enjoyed writing and listening to music, playing the harmonica, making wine, watching NASCAR, football and hunting.

Surviving are four sisters, Sharon A. Gordner of Hughesville, Shirley L. (Robert) Beitz of Ga., Rebecca A. Hayes of N.Y. and Terri L. Tibbets of Texas; six brothers, Rodney G. (Ina) Phillips of Muncy, Gerald E. Phillips Jr. of Muncy Valley, Joseph L. Phillips of Texas, Marvin D. Phillips of Texas, Michael S. Phillips of Pa., and Daniel W. Phillips of Texas; and a sister-in-law, Linda N. Phillips of Muncy.

In addition to his parents, Jody was preceded in death by a brother, David E. Phillips.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to the Gatehouse, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
