Raymond M. Rader Sr.
Raymond M. Rader Sr., 78, of Muncy, passed away at home, while surrounded by family on Thursday Jan. 10, 2013.
Ray was born in Williamsport on June 26, 1934, a son of Raymond and Agatha Marshall Rader.
He was a 1953 graduate of Williamsport High. He enjoyed golfing and had retired from Keystone Furniture Galleries.
He served in the U.S. Army and was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Muncy.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former Shirley A. Smith; a son Raymond Jr. and his wife Debra; a daughter, Sharon, and her husband Kurt McElwee of Muncy; two grandsons, Michael and Matthew Rader; and a sister Sara Erb of Williamsport.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Daniel Rader, and a sister, Merrie Ellison, preceded him in death.
Funeral services were held 1:30 p.m. Monday at Crouse Funeral Home, 133 E. Third St., Williamsport with Rev. David Fishel Susquehanna Hospice Chaplin officiating, followed by burial at Twin Hill Memorial Park in Muncy.
The family received friends at the funeral home from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Monday.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions be made in Raymond’s name to Susquehanna Foundation for the benefit of Susquehanna Hospice, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
