Paul Franklin Boyer
Paul Franklin Boyer, 98, of Hughesville, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
He and his wife, the former Vergetta Mae Fuller, celebrated 17 years of marriage on Sept. 29, 2012.
Paul retired in 1978 from the former Darling Valve, Williamsport, after having worked there for 38 years. He was a member of the Rock Run Church, Muncy Valley, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are a son, Paul C. (Gloria) Boyer of Rehoboth Beach, Del.; three stepsons, Frank D. (Joanne) VanHaelst of Sanford, N.C., Charles F. VanHaelst of Thomaston, Ga., and Richard (Janet) VanHaelst of Sammamash, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Cheryl (David) Johnson of Salona, and Shirley Kinney of Williamsport; 17 grandchildren; and 25 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Paul was preceded in death by his first wife of 54 years, Kattie Puderbaugh Boyer.
Funeral services were held 5 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 27, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. James W. Bechtel officiating. Burial will be held privately in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends called from 4 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
