Boyd N. Chestnut

Boyd N. Chestnut, 57, of Muncy Valley, died Monday, February 25, 2013, at his home.

Born February 15, 1956, in Muncy, he was a son of the late Paul H. and Evelyn Mae Houseknecht Chestnut.

Boyd served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion Post 601, Sonestown.

Surviving are a daughter, Alexandria N. Chestnut of Springfield, Mass.; a sister, Marlene (Joe) Jordan of Unityville; a brother, Dewey (Pat) Chestnut of Unityville; and two grandchildren, Christopher W. Chestnut and Joseph A. Chestnut.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, March 9 at Lairdsville Fire Hall, with Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the fire hall.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest contributions to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, PA 17737, to help defray funeral expenses.
