Rae M. Byerly
Rae M. Byerly, 79, of Muncy, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2013, at the Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing Unit.
Born June 25, 1933 in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late Harry Luther and Helen Maude (Baker) Byerly, who owned and operated the former Byerly’s Meat Market in Muncy.
A graduate of Muncy High School, Rae participated on the majorette squad. Rae was employed at G.T.E. Sylvania in Montoursville for 22 years until the plant closed.
She was a member of the Edward Smith Post 3428 V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary in Muncy, and continued her majorette skills with the Garrett Cochran Post 1 American Legion in Williamsport.
Surviving are five nephews. She was predeceased by three brothers, Joseph, Lake and Frederick; and one sister, Jean Fought.
A graveside service was held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013, at Muncy Cemetery. Officiating was Rev. David F. Fishel, Chaplain at Susquehanna Health.
