Elwood “Woody” L. Holdren
Elwood “Woody” L. Holdren, 74, of 90 Louise Ave., Montgomery, passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at The Gatehouse.
He was born May 21, 1938 in Loganton, Pa., a son of Russell and Margaret Shaffer Holdren.
Woody retired from Chromographic and had also worked for Rummings Bluestone. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, westerns and dancing.
He was predeceased by a son, Elwood “Chip” Jr.
Woody is survived by his wife, the former Sally J. Welch, with whom he had been with for 30 years; children, Diane (David) Storch of Orlando, Fla., Terri (Sean) Baier of Elkton, Md., and Kim (Duayne) Young of Montandon, Pa.; stepchildren, Curtis (Irene) Hufnagle of Williamsport, Deb (Donnie) Applegate of Montgomery, Ronald (Linda) Rummings of Williamsport, Nancy (Richard) Secules of Allenwood and Kathy Rummings of Williamsport; and he was the youngest of nine brothers and sisters. He is also survived by 24 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service was held 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Spitler Funeral Home, 733 Broad St., Montoursville, with Pastor Todd Baker officiating. Interment followed in Twin Hills Memorial Park. Friends called at the funeral home Wednesday morning from 10 to 11 a.m.
