Hildra B. Faus

Hildra B. Faus, 100, of Muncy Valley, died Wednesday, April 3, 2013, at Millville Health Center.

Born July 29, 1912, in Muncy Valley, she was a daughter of the late George and Hattie Rider Phillips. Her husband of 66 years, Harmon C. Faus, preceded her in death on Dec. 17, 2001.

Hildra spent her entire life in Muncy Valley as a homemaker and working on the family farm. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, word puzzles and crocheting.

Surviving are a daughter, Helen S. (Carl) Shaner of Bloomsburg; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Faus of Muncy Valley; four grandchildren, Marcia Myers and companion Bill Sechman of Hughesville, Mike (Melanie) Faus of Muncy Valley, Diane Shaner and companion Josh Williams of Millville and Michelle (Levi) Brown of Bloomsburg; and 10 great-grandchildren, Josh (Ashley) Shaner of Jerseytown, Tim McWilliams and companion Candace VanDine of Bloomsburg, Matt McWilliams, Summer McWilliams and Levi McWilliams, all of Bloomsburg, Billy Cirafici of Millville, Cody Myers and Hunter Sechman of Hughesville, Ashley Faus of Muncy Valley and Kaitlyn Williams of Millville.

In addition to her parents and husband, Hildra was preceded in death by a son, Charles Faus; four brothers, Calvin, Gleason, Leo and Clitfton; and four sisters, Vera, Grace, Rita and Verna.

Funeral services were held 3 p.m. Saturday, April 6, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Allen F. Acor officiating. Burial followed in Franklin “Stone Heap” Cemetery, Unityville. Friends called from 2 to 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
