Betty Jane Warner
Betty Jane Warner, 75, of Unityville, died Tuesday, May 14, 2013, at her home.
Born Aug. 1, 1937, in Warren, Ohio, she was a daughter of the late Joseph and Julianna Bedner McGurk. Her husband of 46 years, James F. Warner, preceded her in death on Feb. 10, 2009.
Betty was a devoted mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family and caring for more than a dozen foster children over the years. She attended Friends Church, Hughesville, and enjoyed singing and dancing. Betty was also proud to have been one of the original cast members of American Bandstand in Philadelphia.
Surviving are a daughter, Betty J. (Franklin) Harvey of Unityville; two sons, James C. (Alice) Warner of Hughesville and Scott J. (Linda) Warner of Unityville; a sister, Janet (Michael) Gilliano of Williamstown; a brother, Joseph (Pat) McGurk of Tannersville; six grand- children; and a brother-in-law, Charles Warner of Benton.
A memorial service will be held at noon Saturday, May 25, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Dan Cale officiating. Friends may call from 11 a.m. until noon Saturday at the funeral home.
