Alecia A. Frey
Alecia A. Frey, 50, of 12 East Church St., Lock Haven, died Thursday, July 4, 2013, in Lock Haven while swimming in the Susquehanna River.
Born Dec. 6, 1962 in Muncy, she was a daughter of Ronald S. Frey, who survives, and the late Dawn (West) Frey.
Alecia was a 1982 graduate of Warrior Run High School. A member of the Lock Haven Jaycees, one of her favorite projects was volunteering at the annual Boat Regatta. She also volunteered at the Salvation Army warehouse in Lock Haven, helped with handicapped children at the former Haven Day Center (now Clinton County Community Connections) and was actively involved in Special Olympics. Previously she participated in the Crafty Looms organization in Lock Haven, where she leaned basic weaving skills. Alecia was a huge fan of Penn State football and wrestling, as well as NASCAR.
She was a member of Great Island Presbyterian Church, Lock Haven.
Surviving in addition to her father, of Watsontown, are one brother, Schuyler (Denise) Frey of Montoursville; four sisters, Michelle (Steve) Michael of Turbotville, Andrea Trader of Mountain Home, Idaho, Wendy Frey of Muncy and Misty (Rick) Fowler of Wyoming, Mich.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to her mother, Dawn (West) Frey, who died in 1965, she was predeceased by her stepmother, Barbara Frey, who died in 1994.
Friends were received from 6 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy, where the funeral was held at 2 p.m. on Monday, July 8. Officiating was her minister, Pastor Benjamin Lins. Burial followed in Muncy Cemetery.
