Mabel I. Hartman
Mabel I. Hartman, 81, of Muncy, and recently a resident at Kramm’s in Milton, died Saturday, July 20, 2013 at Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born June 16, 1932 in Watsontown, she was a daughter of the late Lloyd and Martha (Bennage) Phillips. Her husband of 24 years, William G. Hartman, died June 11, 1974.
Mabel was employed for several years as a seamstress at various area manufacturing plants, including Weldon’s in Williamsport. She then worked for McCormick’s, White Deer, performing cleaning services. Mabel also worked in the dietary department at the Muncy Valley Hospital. In her spare time she enjoyed putting together jigsaw puzzles and sewing, and was very fond of the time she spent with family.
Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, Erwin W. and Lacinda Hartman of Muncy; one daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Clarence Gelnett of Watsontown; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents she was predeceased by a son, Roger W. Hartman who died Nov. 3, 1994; two sisters and one brother.
A memorial service was held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 24, at Grenoble’s, 121 S. Main St., Muncy. Officiating was Rev. Marjorie Fisk, pastor of Fairview Church of the Nazarene, Turbotville. Burial was held at the convenience of the family in Muncy Cemetery.
