Frances Shipman Hall
Frances Shipman Hall, 90, of 113 New St., Muncy, died Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at Susquehanna Health Nursing and Rehab Center, Muncy.
Born January 4, 1923 in Clarkstown, she was a daughter of the late Benton LaMont and Susie (Glaze) Shipman. She and her husband of 66 years, Egbert P. Hall, Jr., were married Nov. 30, 1946 in Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown.
Frances was a 1941 graduate of Muncy High School. During WWII she worked in the office of the Ordnance in White Deer Valley and in the office of a Wire Co., which made signal wire for the Government and was located in the Brewer Bros. Garage building at the corner of S. Main and New streets, Muncy. She later worked in the office of Weldon Mfg. Pajama Plant, Muncy. After marriage she was a lunchroom monitor at Myers Elementary School, Muncy for over 25 years.
Frances was a lifelong member of Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown and was a member of the Muncy Business and Professional Women’s Club.
Surviving in addition to her husband are; two daughters, Anita (David) Kay, of Oceanview, Del. and Christine (Kenneth) Cramer, of Enola; one son, Bryce (Jeanne) Hall, of Ridgway; three grandchildren, Mac (Stacy) Bruker, Brianne (Joshua) Beebe and Loren Hall, six step grandchildren, Karen Kay Simmons, Kenny and Kevin Cramer and Tom, Joe and Andy Navario; one sister, Loretta Dildine, of Auburn, Fla.; and one sister-in-law, Alice Shipman, of Antes Fort.
She was predeceased by three brothers, Charles, Clinton (Louise) and Amos Shipman; six sisters, Catherine (Verus) Ritter, Margaret (Donald) Reece, Louise (Robert) Wetherill, Lucille (Dayton) Lyons, Tranie (Albert) Snyder and Eleanor (Max) Womelsdorf; and one brother-in-law, William Dildine.
Friends will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, at Messiah Luthertan Church, 2041 State Rt. 442 Highway, Clarkstown, where a memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., with her pastor, Rev. Beverly Cotner, officiating.
Burial will be held in the Muncy Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
The family will provide the flowers, and suggests memorial contributions be made to either Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 State Rt. 442 Highway, Muncy, PA 17756 or to Muncy Public Library, 108 S. Main St., Muncy, PA 17756.
