Alberta V. Pittenger
Alberta V. Pittenger, 78, of Muncy, died Sunday, Aug. 4, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born July 16, 1935, in Little Marsh, she was a daughter of the late Bert and Eunice Dolley Williams. She and her husband, Alvin C. Pittenger, celebrated 30 years of marriage on Dec. 16, 2012.
Alberta was previously employed at the Antique Barn Center, Pennsdale, and was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church, Montgomery. She enjoyed sewing, baking, doing crafts and all types of puzzles. Alberta also loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving, in addition to her husband, are a son, Joseph L. (Doris) Covert of Germany; a daughter, Georgine W. (Robert) Miller of Muncy; a step-son, Kenneth J. (Sherry) Pittenger of Antes Fort; two step-daughters, Loretta M. (Stuart) Stout of Oklahoma and Julie L. Godding of Florida; a brother, Claude (Lucy) Partridge of New York; 17 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Alberta was preceded in death by two brothers, Delbert and Levi Williams; and a sister-in-law, June Williams.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Friday, August 9, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Max L. Walters Jr. officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
