C. Bruce Henry
C. Bruce Henry, 85, of Montgomery, died Thursday, Aug. 8, 2013, at the Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Bruce and his wife, the former Lucy A. Enck, observed their 42nd anniversary on Nov. 20, 2012.
Bruce had worked for Sprout Waldron, Sylvania and SUN Area Technical School. He was a Coast Guard veteran of World War II and received an Associate’s Degree from Penn State.
Bruce was an avid golfer and served on the committee to build the White Deer Golf Course. He played and was a craftsman of Appalachian Mountain Dulcimers for almost 40 years; sang in and served on the board for several years of the Williamsport Civic Chorus; was a performer for the Williamsport Players, Community Theater League and the Scottish Rite Players. He was a member of Ivy Lodge #397 F. & A. M and enjoyed woodworking and hunting.
Born Sept. 16, 1927 in Warren, he was the son of Robert P. Sr. and Gertrude L. Drum Henry.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Sharon L. Henry of Williamsport, his favorite and only child! Sisters, twins, Helen Jacobs of Md. and Ellen LeVan of Fla., and Mary Ann (Jesse) Fry of South Williamsport; and a cousin, Marcella Dalrymple of Warren.
Bruce was predeceased by his brothers, Robert P. Jr. and Richard Henry.
Masonic services were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Knight-Confer’s, 1914 Memorial Ave., followed by a service officiated by the Rev. Dr. J. Morris Smith. Burial was at Twin Hills Memorial Park. Visitation was 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday.
