Earnest E. Newman

Earnest E. Newman, 83, of Muncy, passed away, Aug. 29, 2013, at the Gatehouse.
Born Jan. 19, 1930, in Hughesville, he was a son of the late Charles and Helen Secules Newman. He and his wife, the former Lana Roedts Teschner, celebrated 18 years of marriage on April 23, 2013.
Earnie served his country honorably as a sergeant in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He retired from U.S. Steele Co., Fairless Hills, after having worked there for 32 years as a rigger. Following his retirement Earnie delivered Meals on Wheels for 13 years. He loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and family vacations to the beach. Earnie also enjoyed playing cards and traveling.
Surviving, in addition to his wife, are two sons, Jerry (Pat) Hause of Levittown and Rodger (Betsy) Newman of North Huntington; a daughter, Vicki Jean (Dave) Kozki of Levittown; three step-sons, Todd (Bonnie) Teschner of Bloxon, Va., Tim (Patty) Teschner of Hulemville, and Glenn Teschner of Newtown; a step-daughter, Vicki Teschner of Churchville; 16 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Earnie was preceded in death by his first wife of 41 years, Lois Berger Hause.
A graveside service will be held at Newtown Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
