John C. Youngman, Jr.
John C. Youngman, Jr., 79, formerly of Williamsport, died Thursday, August 29, 2013 of Picks Disease at Valley View Nursing Center, Montoursville. Born March 24, 1934 in Williamsport, he was a son of the late John C. Sr. and Ruth (Allen) Youngman. On July 5, 1958 he married the former Judith Cole, who survives.
John was a graduate of Williamsport High School, Yale University and the Harvard Law School. He worked for many years as a partner in the law firm Candor, Youngman, Gibson & Gault.
He was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, Williamsport, where he served as an elder.
His interests included singing as well as fly fishing on his beloved Antes Creek.
Surviving in addition to his wife are four children, John C. Youngman III (Betsie), of Pennsdale, Ashley France of Northampton, MA, Adam Cole Youngman (Cindy), of Fort Wayne, IN and Benjamin Antes Youngman, of Boston, MA; 10 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m on Sat., Sept. 7, at First Presbyterian Church, 102 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA, officiated by his pastor, Rev. Sam Hwang.
The family suggests memorial contributions in John’s name be made to the Organ Restoration Fund, First Presbyterian Church, 102 E. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
