Robert Lee Miller

Robert Lee “Bob” Miller, 66, of Pennsdale, died Sunday, Sept. 15, 2013.

Born May 7, 1947, in Muncy, he was a son of Donna J. Shaner Miller and the late Marlin A. Miller. He and his wife, the former Paula J. Brehm, celebrated seven years of marriage on April 25, 2013.

Bob retired in 2006 from Andritz, Muncy, after having worked there for 30 years. He was a member of the Quarter Century Club, Muncy Valley Moose, Muncy Lodge 299 F. & A. M. and the Loyalsock Valley Antique Machinery Association. Bob had a passion for John Deere tractors and could often be seen displaying his John Deere Model 50 at various local events. He also enjoyed garden tractor pulling, hunting and gambling.

Bob dedicated much of his life to the fire and EMS service, receiving the Lycoming County First Responder of the Year award for 2012, by the LTS EMS Council. He was a member of the Muncy Township Vol. Fire Comp. and had previously served as president, vice president and ambulance captain. For several years, Bob volunteered as a driver for the East Lycoming Ambulance Association.

Surviving, in addition to his wife and mother, are a sister, Debra A. Miller, of Picture Rocks; two brothers, Carl E. “Buck” (Delores) Miller, of Picture Rocks and Wayne A. (Pam) Miller, of Loyalsock; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, Bob was preceded in death by his first wife of 25 years, Rose M. Miller and a son, Robert L. Miller Jr.

Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 19, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with the Rev. Rob Ransom officiating. Burial followed in Mt. Zion Cemetery. Friends called from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home where a Masonic funeral service was held at 8:45 p.m. by Muncy Lodge 299 F. & A. M.
