Betsy Jo Hinton Koehler
Betsy Jo Hinton Koehler, 44, of 465 Beagle Club Road, Muncy, passed away Friday, Sept. 27, 2013, at the University of Pennsylvania Hospital in Philadelphia.
Betsy was born in Lock Haven on Jan. 18, 1969, the daughter of Clifford D. and Linda Herr Hinton of Lock Haven.
She was 1987 graduate of Bald Eagle Nittany High School and a 1989 graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Betsy worked for a short time at the Lycoming County Prison before moving to the Lycoming County Pre-Release Center, where she worked as an administrative assistant for the past 22 years.
On June 11, 2005, at the Wallace Run Rod and Gun Club in Loyalsock, Betsy married Donald R. Koehler, who survives in Muncy.
Betsy attended the First Church of Christ in Flemington with her parents. Along with her husband, she was a member of the Highland Lake Manor and the Consolidated Sportsman’s Club.
Betsy enjoyed her annual “Beach Buddies” trip with her friends. She especially loved spending time with her family and was a special aunt to her nephew Ryan, never missing his sporting events. She also adored her two dogs, Dino and Pebbles.
In addition to her husband and parents, she is survived by her sister, Deana Hinton Hill, of Castanea; her step-daughter, Lindsey S. “Munch” Koehler and her fiance, Kendall Howard, of Williamsport; her step-son, Michael Koehler, of Old Lycoming; and several aunts, uncles and cousins who loved her dearly.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Clifford and Sara Hinton and her maternal grandparents, George and Elinor Herr.
A memorial service was held on Tuesday, Oct. 1, 2013, at 1:30 p.m. at the First Church of Christ, 714 Fairpoint Road, Mill Hall, PA 17751, with Rev. Mark Riley officiating. Friends and family were received at the church on Tuesday from noon until the time of the service.
