Doris B. Sullivan
Doris B. Sullivan, 81, of Hughesville, died Saturday, Nov. 9, 2013, at Muncy Valley Hospital Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Unit.
Born Sept. 2, 1932, in Philadelphia, she was a daughter of the late Albion P. and Blanche L. Derr Bowers. She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Carl G. Sullivan, on July 2, 1989.
Doris was a dedicated mother and grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She also enjoyed sewing and cooking.
Surviving are two daughters, Joanne Sue (Bruce) DeLong, of Tampa, Fla., and Peggie L. (Vincent) Congilio, of Greeley; two sons, Michael C. (Nancy) Sullivan, of Montoursville and Timothy G. Sullivan, of Sunbury; a brother, Albion P. Bowers, of Ohio; two grandchildren, Tyler J. Sullivan and Casey A. Sullivan, whom she raised; and numerous other grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Doris was preceded in death by two daughters, Gail M. Balliet and Jane C. Stugart and a brother, Elmer S. Bowers.
A memorial service was held 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 14, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, with Rev. Jane O’Borski officiating. Burial followed in Cherry Grove Cemetery. In keeping with Doris’ wishes, there will be no viewing.
The family provided the flowers and suggest memorial contributions be made to Susquehanna Hospice, 1100 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA 17701.
