Robert F. Gunns

Robert F. Gunns, 76, of 294 Aderhold Drive, Hughesville, died on Saturday, Nov. 23, 2013, at SUN Home Hospice Care Center, Sunbury. He and his wife the former Mary Badman were married on Dec. 22, 1962.
He was born on Aug. 7, 1937, in Reynoldsville, and was the son of Francis and Nora Bukowski Gunns.
Bob was a 1955 graduate of Winslow High School. He attended Wayne University. Bob served his country with the U.S. Air Force in Japan. Bob was employed by Filson-Gingrich-Minnick of Harrisburg, Clayton Smith, PA Gas and Water. He retired from PPL after 24 years as an electrical management consultant. He is a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. He was a life member of the Elks, Muncy Moose and the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and boating.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Paul Eugene (Wendy) Gunns, of Montgomery and Robert F. (Darlene) Gunns, of Charles Town, W.Va.; one daughter, Jennifer A. Gunns, of Centennial Denver, Colo.; two sisters, Carol A. Lewis and Kathleen L. Hasselback, both of Dubois; seven grandchildren, Ryan Gunns, Rochelle Gunns, Ian Persing, Evan Persing, Heather Bacon, Kevin Milstead and Kortney Greenwalt; and his friend and pal, Scottie dog Sadie.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held today at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church, 702 W. Fourth St., with Rev. Brian F. Van Flossen officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Friends and family were received at Kaufman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Inc., 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport, on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m..
The family will provide flowers and suggest memorial contributions in Robert’s name be made to American Cancer Society, Lycoming County Unit, 1948 W. Third St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
