Stephen W. Peterman
Stephen W. Peterman, 59, of Clarkstown, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 5:45 in the morning.
Born Dec. 16, 1953, in Muncy, he was the son of Chester E. Peterman, (deceased) and Helen L. Heiges Fischer of Milton. He and his wife, Patty A. Berger Peterman, celebrated 40 years of marriage on April 7, 2013.
Steve attended several area schools and graduated from Milton High School in 1971. He was employed at Koppers Inc, Montgomery for the past 39 and a 1/2 years.
He was a member of the Lycoming County Extension Board for the past several years and was Chairman of the 4-H Livestock Committee for the past 15 years. He was a member of Reuben’s Rubies Relay for Life team. He was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed working with children and in the past had worked at 4-H camp as an archery instructor and camp cook. He had also coached an AYSO soccer team for many years and the Miller Welding girls softball team. He loved the game of golf, hunting and playing poker with his friends and riding his motorcycle with his wife.
Surviving in addition to his wife are a daughter, Mariah S. Gundersen (Mark), of Winchester, Va. and a granddaughter Mia Rose; his mother, Helen L. Fischer, of Milton; a sister, Penny Kurtz, of Milton; four brothers, Chester E. Peterman, of Williamsport, Donald L. (Angie) Peterman, of Milton, Jamie (BJ), of New Columbia and Billy Fischer; as well as lots of nieces and nephews.
In keeping with Steve’s wishes, there will be a brief memorial service presided over by James Girven, lay leader, followed by a celebration of his life (party) at the Clarkstown Fire Hall, Clarkstown, on Saturday, Dec. 7, 2013, at 1 p.m.
The family will provide the flowers and contributions can be made to the American Cancer Society or The Messiah Lutheran Church, Clarkstown.
