Joan M. ‘Joanie’ Crawford

Joan Marie “Joanie” Crawford, 58, a resident of Hughesville, passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at her residence. Born in Muncy Creek Township, Lycoming County, on Monday, June 13, 1955, she was the daughter of the late Graydon (Grady) and Mary (Felix) Crawford.

Joanie was a 1974 graduate of Montgomery High School and attended horticulture classes at the former W.A.C.C. She was employed by the former J.A. Habig Veneer at Montgomery and had also been employed at the Ward Myers Elementary School at Muncy and the former Sheraton Hotel at South Williamsport.

Joanie enjoyed watching soap operas and during her high school years was involved in athletics.

She is survived by one son, Aaron J. Crawford; two sisters and one brother-in-law, Toni Houseknecht, of Hughesville, Lorna and Paul Staggert, of Montgomery, and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Steven R. and Diane Crawford, of Pennsdale and Jon K. and Belinda Crawford, of Picture Rocks. She is also survived by three grandchildren.

Funeral services were conducted from the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy, at 11 a.m. on Friday, Dec. 6, 2013, with Reverend Charles Teffeteller, pastor of the Grace Baptist Church at Muncy, officiating. Interment was in the Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends called on Friday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The family provided the flowers.
