H. Geraldine Jarrett

H. Geraldine Jarrett, formerly of Montgomery, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 11, 2013, in the RiverWoods at Lewisburg, Pa.

Born on Saturday, April 2, 1921, at Montgomery, Lycoming County, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Albert and Catherine (Stryker) McCormick.

Geraldine was the widow of Donald E. Jarrett, who preceded her in death on Aug. 19, 1997.

She was employed as a cafeteria worker by the Montgomery Area High School for 21 years.

Geraldine was a member of the Clinton Baptist Church at Montgomery, Pa. She was a 1939 graduate of Montgomery-Clinton High School and a 1941 graduate of the Potts Business School at Williamsport.

She was a 50+ year member of the Eagle Grange No. 1 at Montgomery. Geraldine enjoyed reading and traveling. Mr. & Mr. Jarrett spent their winters in Arcadia, FL.

Geraldine is survived by four children, Sidney E. and Nancy Jarrett, Montgomery, Pa; Ross A. Jarrett, Mifflinburg, Pa.; James L. Jarrett, New Columbia, Pa.; Joyce J. Hocker, Harrisburg, Pa.; and one sister, Virginia A. Beck, Allenwood, Pa. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

At Geraldine’s request, there will be no services. Interment was in the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Cemetery. Arrangements were handled by the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 40 E. Houston Avenue, Montgomery, Pa.
