Warren E. Haskins
Warren E. Haskins, 91, of Hughesville, went to be with his Lord on Dec. 7, 2013, after a short stay at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence Hospital.
He was preceded in death in 2005 by his wife, the former Dolores Smith, after 62 years of marriage and his son, Lawrence Haskins, in April of this year.
Warren was a Army Air Force Veteran of World War II, a B-17 pilot serving in the European Theatre of Operations. His decorations included the Air Medal with four clusters, the Distinguished Unit Badge with one cluster, and the ETO Ribbon with three Battle Stars. After serving in the military, he worked for Capitol Airlines and then retired from United Airlines.
He is survived by a daughter, Sharon Sharr, of Watsontown; three granddaughters, Leah (Christopher) Shaffer, of Middleburg, Susan Salisbury, of Marlboro, N.J., Mindy Foresman, of Watsontown; a great-grandson, Ryan Thames. of Syracuse, N.Y.; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Wiltshire, of Gainesville, Fla.
He was an avid reader and was a member of St. Andrew Lutheran Church of Muncy.
Warren donated his body to Medical Science for research.
