Jerome W. Finady

Jerome W. Finady, 75, of Hughesville, died Thursday, Dec. 12, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center. He was born July 22, 1938, in Emmaus, a son of the late Edwin Fegley and Kathleen (Hensinger) Fegley, of Emmaus. June 7, 1984, he married Clarita Gutierrez, who survives.

Jerome served in the U.S. Air Force for 27 years, retiring in 1985 as a Master Sergeant. During his time of service, he served all over the world in tech support. He loved to shop, build model airplanes, collect hats and play Santa Clause. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 35, Hughesville, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 3428, Muncy.

In addition to his wife of 28 years and mother, he is survived by a daughter, Catherine F. “Karen” (Josen) Gallo, of Manilla, Philippines; two grandchildren, Katherine Gallo and Jerome Gallo, both of Manilla, Philippines; two brothers, Roger Fegley, White Hall and Karl Fegley, of Emmaus,;and two sisters, Louise (James) Vanfossen, Germansville and Ellie (Larry) Eisenhard, of Emmaus.

A memorial service was held at 11 a.m., Friday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, by The Rev. Glenn McCreary. The family received friends Friday from 10 a.m. till the time of service. Military honors were accorded by combined military organizations. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
