Cloyd W. Miller

Cloyd W. Miller, 68, of Hughesville, died Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at his home. He was born March 23, 1945, in Muncy, a son of the late Brady W. and Freda O. (Whitmoyer) Miller. On April 4, 1964, he married Patricia Ann Bowman, who survives.

He was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church, Unityville, and attended Hughesville High School. Cloyd had worked at Whipples Auto Body, Dick Lavy Trucking, Inc. for 16 years and had owned and operated Miller’s Auto Body for over 25 years.

He was a member of Muncy Lodge 299, F.&A.M. and the Valley of Williamsport Scottish Rite. Through the years, Cloyd enjoyed camping, traveling, hunting and spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife of 49 years, he is survived by a son, Brian Scott (Amber) Miller, Hughesville; daughter, Christina Lynn (Joel) Ibaugh, Dauphin; two grandchildren, Katie G. and Cody A. Miller; a brother, Walter K. (Viola) Miller, Jersey Shore; and a sister, Leona (William) Wertman, Lairdsville.

A memorial service was held 2 p.m. Saturday Jan. 4, 2014, at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville by Pastor Ray Hackett. The family received friends Saturday from 1 p.m. till the time of service.
