Evelyn Forney Murray
Evelyn Forney Murray, after a recent fall, passed away peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2013, at the Williamsport Hospital. She was 87.
Evelyn will be missed by everyone who had the opportunity to know and love her.
Evelyn was born in Chester, Pa., and grew up in that area. She moved in 1949 to her husband’s farm in Hughesville, after her wedding to Robert Murray.
Evelyn was an accomplished pianist often playing solo performances in several of the Philadelphia concert halls, starting at the young age of 16. She continued her love for the music as the relief organist at local churches in the Chester area as well as a regular organist at the Lutheran Church in Hughesville.
She graduated from Chester High School and attended a local business school for bookkeeping. Her early years she spent as homemaker raising her children. Later she worked as a bookkeeper for the local Ford dealer in Hughesville.
After several years she convinced Robert to buy the dealership and they both managed Country Ford until their retirement.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Glenn, of Oceanside, Calif.; a son-in-law, Michael Pascucci, Yardley; two grandchildren, Jonah and Marc Pascucci; one step-granddaughter, Darci Rezentes; and two step-great-granddaughters, Lehuanani and Hokulea Rezentes.
She was preceded in death by her husband Robert and daughters Beth and Robin.
Services were held at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
Relatives and friends were invited to attend the viewing at 1 p.m. and service at 2 p.m. on Tuesday Jan. 7, 2014.
The interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
