Lorraine R. Phillips

Lorraine R. Phillips, 79, of Muncy Valley, died Dec. 21, 2013, at the Muncy Valley Hospital, Skilled Nursing Unit. She was born Jan. 5, 1934, in Sonestown, a daughter of the late Roland Foster and Ethel Clair (Phillips) Boatman. July 28, 1951, she married George William Phillips, who survives.

She retired as a supervisor from Hon Furniture Manufacturing after many years. She enjoyed reading and watching television.

In addition to her husband of 62 years, she is survived by three sons, Michael (Charlotte) Phillips, of North Mountain, Timothy (Jenny Williamson) Phillips, of Muncy Valley and Jeffrey (Kathy) Phillips, of Dushore; three daughters, Cheryl Grebe, of Royersford, Sherry (Steve) Persun, of Cogan Station and Vicki (Mike) Kelley, of Dushore; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Marjorie Houseknecht, of Clarkstown, Carol Smith, of Cogan Station and Mary Koch, of Sonestown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Brandon Phillips; a brother in infancy ;and two sisters, Phyllis Boatman and Violet Masteller.

Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 26 in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, by Rev. David Fishel. The interment will be in the Franklin “Stone Heap” Cemetery, Unityville. The family received friends in the funeral home from 10 a.m. ’til the time of service Thursday.
