Ronald Jay Stover
Ronald Jay Stover, 70, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at Williamsport Regional Medical Center.
Born April 3, 1943, in Muncy, he was a son of Grace F. Newman Stover and the late Edgar S. Stover. He and his wife, the former Judith Lee Paulhamus, celebrated 42 years of marriage on Oct. 2, 2013.
Ron was a graduate of the Hughesville High School, Class of 1961. He was employed at the West Company, Montgomery, for 23 years, before retiring from General Cable, Montoursville, in 2001. Ron was a member of First United Methodist Church, Muncy and Muncy Lodge 299 F. & A. M. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and above all, spending time with his granddaughters.
Surviving, in addition to his mother and wife, are a daughter, Julie R. (Stephen) Padbury, of Newark, Del.; two granddaughters, Grace Elizabeth Padbury and Sarah Catherine Padbury; two sisters, Rojena K. (Allen) Ditzler, of Midland, Mich. and Nancy L. (Roger) Rupert, of Hughesville; and two brothers, Larry B. (Karen) Stover, of Ranton, Mich. and Edgar E. (Karla) Stover of Tacoma, Wash.
Funeral services were held 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at First United Methodist Church, 602 S. Market St., Muncy, with Rev. Arlene P. Beechert officiating. Burial followed in Montoursville Cemetery. Friends called from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, where a Masonic funeral service was held at 8:45 p.m. by Muncy Lodge 299 F. & A. M.
