Randy R. Ryder

Randy was born on Nov. 9, 1959, to Raymond W. and Elsie Z. (Metzger) Ryder, of Montgomery. He passed away unexpectedly on Jan. 21, 2014, in Charleston, S.C. while staying with a friend.

Randy was a 1977 graduate of Montgomery Area High School and earned his degree from Electronics Institute, Harrisburg.

His engineering career allowed him to travel and work for many prestigious employers over the years, including WHTM, in Harrisburg; CNN, based out of Atlanta and Miami; WMBB in Panama City, Fla.; WRIC in Richmond, Va.; and WJZ in Baltimore, Md.

He is survived by his mother, brothers Brian (Melanie) Ryder, Montgomery, and Dale (JoAnna) Ryder, Elizabethtown; son, Benjamin Ryder, Celebration, Fla.; nephews, Eric, James, Scott and Daniel Ryder; and niece, Julie Ryder.

He was preceded in death by his father and a niece, Cassandra Lynn Ryder.

Memorial services will be held in Montgomery on Saturday, Feb. 1, at the St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church at 11 a.m. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
