Kay Fausey Augst
Kay Fausey Augst, 80, of Williamsport, Md., formerly of Muncy, Shavertown and South Williamsport, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at Homewood Care Center, Williamsport, Md., where she had been a resident for a month.
Born in Moreland Township, Muncy, Nov. 1, 1933, she was the daughter of the late Julius D. and Ruth Ritter Fausey. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Clifford Augst of Williamsport, Md; a brother, Marlin (Rose) Fausey, of DuBoistown; three nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by a brother, Weldon Fausey, of New Columbia, in 2007.
Kay attended Opps school and graduated from Muncy High School.
She was employed by General Motors Acceptance Corp., retiring after 33 years of service.
She enjoyed music. She played mandolin early in her life and became an accomplished pianist having studied classical piano under Earl Snyder, of Williamsport, for many years. She also founded and directed chapters of the Sweet Adeline’s in Williamsport and Wilkes Barre Area.
She was very fond of her two Jack Russell dogs, Suzy and Happy.
In keeping with her wishes, there will be no visitation and burial was in the Muncy Cemetery at the convenience of the family.
