Mildred Ruth Croman Warg

Mildred Ruth Croman Warg, 93, of Hughesville, died Feb. 5, 2014, at Wolf Run Village. She was born July 25, 1920, in Shrewsberry Township, Sullivan County, a daughter of the late Walter and Edna (Rine) Croman. Sept. 19, 1938, she married the late Clifford E. Warg, who died July 25, 2010.

She was a member of Bethany United Methodist Church, Hughesville. She graduated from Hughesville High School, Class of 1938 and attended Dickenson Business School. In 1984, she retired from Sprout Waldron after many years as a secretary. Earlier in life she had worked for the former Jones and Laughlin, Muncy. She was an avid gardner, dancing, bowling, loved dogs and riding snowmobile and horses. She loved and appreciated her extended family at Wolf Run Village.

She is survived by two sons, Richard A. (Judy) Warg, of Muncy and Dennis E. (Astrida) Warg, of Churchville; 10 grandchildren, Richard A. (Jill) Warg, Shawn R. (Michelle) Warg, Suzanne (Chris) Holmes, Kristoffer D. (Ann) Warg and Erik D. Warg, Earnest and Darren Harter, Becky Courtright, Melody Grimes, and Holly Kealy; and 16 great-grandchildren, Charly, Kendall, Jonathan, Kaine, Kruz Warg, Jake Zukowski, Gage Harter, Chris, Shawn and Courtney Grimes, Corinna and Alan Courtright, Ross and Nick Harter, and Cheyanna, Alison and Alisha Healy.

In addition to her husband of 71 years and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Lavina Herr.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Monday in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, by Rev. Jane O’Borski. The interment was in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Hughesville. The family received friends Monday from 1 p.m. till the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lycoming Co. SPCA, 2805 Reach Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
