Mary Elizabeth Buck
Mary Elizabeth Buck, 85, a resident of Montgomery, passed away on Saturday, Feb. 8, 2014, at her residence. Born in Muncy, Lycoming County, on Saturday, March 17, 1928, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Florence Lillian (Beaver) Waldron.
Mary Elizabeth was the widow of Lyle G. Buck who preceded her in death on Dec. 2, 1989.
She was a graduate of Muncy Normal School. Mary was employed by the former Montgomery Mills and later volunteered as a teacher’s aid with the Montgomery School District.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran “Brick” Church at Montgomery and was a former member of Christ Lutheran Church at Montgomery. Mary Elizabeth enjoyed gardening and especially enjoyed the company of her cats. Earlier in life she had been active in the Democratic Party.
She is survived by eight nieces and nephews, Ron Waldron and family, of Massachusetts; David Waldron and family, of Wilkes-Barre; John Garrison and family, of Connecticut; Anne Garrison, of Alabama; William Garrison, of Alabama; Kerry Thorne and family, of Maine; Thomas Waldron, of Bloomsburg; Amandra Molter and family, of Bloomsburg; and one brother-in-law, John Garrison, of Alabama. In addition to her husband, Mary Elizabeth was preceded in death by her brother, T. Beaver Waldron and her sister, Eleanor Jean Garrison.
A memorial service for Mary Elizabeth will be conducted later this spring with full arrangements to be announced at that time. Arrangements are being handled by the Galen R.
