James Roderick Kilborn Jr.
James Roderick Kilborn Jr., 85, of Elimsport, died at his home on Wednesday, Feb. 26, 2014.
James was born in Oriente Province, Cuba, on Sept. 11, 1928. He was the son of the Late James Roderick Kilborn, Sr. and Jewell Ashe.
James graduated from the Quincy High School of Quincy, Mass., and obtained his bachelor degree from Boston University. James was a member of the Rural Masonic Lodge of Quincy Massachusets and a Golden Eagle of the NRA.
James was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Navy. After WWII James continued to serve in the Navy and retired after 28 years at the rank of Lieutenant Commander.
James was a private pilot, a marksman, and a master gardener. He was also proud to be an eagle scout.
James is survived by his two sons, Scott (Rhonda) Kilborn, of Suffolk, Va., and James (Kelly) Kilborn III, of St. Claire, Minn.; a daughter, Peri (Andrew) Taylor, of Ontario, Canada; and four grandchildren.
James was preceded in death by his late parents, his two sisters, Mary Jane Hayes and Nancy Anne Dawe, and his wife, Marianne (Keever) Kilborn.
Services were held at United Church of Christ in Norwell, Mass. Arrangements in Massachusetts were handled by the McNamara-Sparrell Funeral Home, Norwell, Mass.
