Agnes Marie Bower

Agnes Marie Bower, 102, Hughesville, died March 6, 2014, at the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Muncy.

She was born May 19, 1911, in Gooding, Idaho, a daughter of the late Charles Wesley and Kathryn Hannah (Kehrer) Bower.

Agnes was a member of the Moreland Baptist Church. Through the years, Agnes worked at the Muncy Valley Hospital, the Muncy Correctional Institute, the former Brewer’s Wirerope and the former Laurelton State Village.

Agnes is survived by two sisters, Ellen E. Baer, Shippensburg, and Barbara A. (Robert) Harding, Hughesville, and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by four brothers, Jacob, Harold “Nub”, Williard and David Bower, and two sisters, Irene Bower and Hazel Fullmer.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, March 15, in the Moreland Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Ingraham and her niece, Bonnie Bower Snyder, CLM, officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 14, in the McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, and Saturday from 9 a.m. until the time of service.

The family will provide the flowers and wish that memorial contributions be made to the Moreland Baptist Church, 118 Moreland Baptist Rd., Muncy, PA, 17756, or the Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 1001 Grampian Blvd., Williamsport, PA, 17701.
