Julia D. Crist

Julia D. Crist, 62, a resident of Montgomery, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, in the Williamsport Regional Medical Center. Born in Williamsport, Lycoming County, on Friday, Oct. 5, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Hilda (Fox) Smith.

She was the wife of Lynn A. Crist, with whom she celebrated a 43rd wedding anniversary on July 25, 2013.

Julia was a 1969 graduate of Loyalsock High School and a graduate of the Pennsylvania College of Technology. She was employed as a bank auditor by the Williamsport National Bank for 25 years.

She was an active member of the Church of the Resurrection at Muncy, where she had served on the finance committee and had helped with various bazaars. Julia had served on the board of the North Central Sight Services. She enjoyed reading, Zumba and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children, Brian M. and Sherilyn Crist, of Short Gap, W.Va., Kevin J. and Elizabeth Crist, of Lititz and Erin L. Crist, of High Point, N.C.; four grandchildren, Andrew “AJ” Crist, Kaitlyn Crist, Ian Crist, and Eli Crist; four siblings, Anne Tompkins, of Bentonville, Va., James Smith, of Shawnee, Okla., Susan Rightnour, of Cogan Station and Gary Smith, of Williamsport; and one sister-in-law, Glenda Laubach, of Stoney Run. Julia was preceded in death by one sister, Frances Lewis.

A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at the Church of the Resurrection, 75 Musser Lane, Muncy, at 10 a.m., on Friday, March 7, 2014, with Reverend Glenn McCreary, her pastor, officiating. Interment was in the Fairview Cemetery, Clinton Township, Lycoming County. Friends called on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Galen R. Betzer Funeral Service, 108 N. Main St., Muncy and 9 to 10 a.m. Friday at the church.
