Baldwin ‘Benny’ R. Yarosz
Baldwin “Benny” R. Yarosz, 86, of Allenwood died at home on Saturday, March 8, 2014.
He was born in Williamsport on March 11, 1927, a son of Raymond P. and Katherine (Gola) Yarosz.
He was a member of St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church and had been employed as a conductor by the Reading Railroad then Conrail, retiring after 40 years of service. Baldwin was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during World War II.
His wife, the former June C. Starr, died June 5, 1987.
He was also involved in small business with PA Folding Carton, Hughesville. His sense of humor and great storytelling made him the center of attention at many gatherings.
Surviving are his daughter Elizabeth Ann Yarosz-Ash and her husband, Richard Ash, of Wichita Falls, Texas and a sister, Carolyn Linden, of Bethesda, Md.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, March 14 at St. Lawrence Roman Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Ave., South Williamsport, with the Rev. David Bechtel officiating.
There was no visitation; burial was at Fairview Cemetery in Montgomery with full military honors provided by the Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.
